ABOUT US

About COC Noordoost-Brabant

Being yourself, whoever you are and whoever you love. That is what we work for in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Oss and the rest of Noordoost-Brabant. COC Noordoost-Brabant stands up for equality, emancipation and social acceptance of LGBTI+ people. We bring people together and work towards a society where sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics do not prevent you from being yourself.

The COC Noordoost-Brabant region covers postcodes 5200 to 5499. These are partly in Noord-Brabant and partly in Gelderland (the river area north of ’s-Hertogenbosch). The following municipalities are listed alphabetically: Aalburg, Bernheze, Boekel, Boxmeer, Boxtel, Cuijk, Geldermalsen, Grave, Haaren, Heusden, ’s-Hertogenbosch, Landerd, Maasdriel, Meijerijstad, Mill en Sint-Hubert, Neerijnen, Oss, Sint Anthonis, Sint-Michielsgestel, Uden, Vught and Zaltbommel.

We bring people together

Our community groups organise a variety of activities and gatherings. They offer a safe space where participants can meet like-minded people. We also work to increase visibility, for example by being present at Bevrijdingsfestival Brabant or Purple Friday. We encourage collaboration between different initiatives in our community, from rainbow sports clubs to drag collectives. Our community’s strength lies in its diversity.

Locally involved, nationally connected

We are connected with COC Netherlands. Together, we work for equal rights and acceptance, putting this into practice locally. We represent the interests of the LGBTI+ community in regular meetings with municipalities and other organisations. We also provide education sessions at schools, from primary through higher education.

A volunteer-led organisation

Volunteers make our association what it is. They organise gatherings and activities, provide education sessions and help people find information and support. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to contribute to a diverse and inclusive society.
